World Beef Expo 2010

The September23 to the 26th 2010 World Beef Expo in West Allis, WI attracted 650 head of cattle from about 15 states. 15 Lowlines were exhibited at the event. This is the first time Lowlines have been at the event and the decision to participate was made close to registration deadline. It is an excellent event so it is anticipated more Lowline Breeders will participate in 2011.

The Country Today newspaper interviewed Mark about Lowlines and Sigel Sunset Ranch. It was an excellent article explaining Lowlines to the paper's readers. Mark even got his photo in the article. The Country Today is a regional agricultural newspaper.

In addition to having cattle exhibited we also showed. Our bull Sigel Sunset Maximus was breed champion.

The next stop was the Iowa State Fair.  Winning ribbons is great but even better is the comaraderie of other Lowline breeders.

SIGEL SUNSET RANCH CAPTURES CHAMPION STATUS AT DENVER 2008 NATIONAL WESTERN

The 2008 National Western Lowline Show held in conjunction with the National Western Livestock Show in Denver, CO was a huge success for the Ranch.

The entire Gilles family traveled to Denver to attend the National Western and Lowline activities. Little did they realize how exciting the trip would turn out to be. They purchased Victoria, a full-blood bred heifer at the National Lowline Sale on January 15th. The next day she was entered into the National Lowline Show by her previous owners. Victoria won champion in her class of Summer Yearly Heifer.

We are very happy to have Victoria and her off spring at the Ranch.

NEW CALVES
Embryo Transplant Program

Sigel Sunset has an embryo transplant program under the direction of an excellent local ET veterinarian. Our National Western Heifer Victoria along with Alta Salena have been flushed.  The sires are our Bar J Tequila, Yarras Jackeroo, Mr. Dakota Super Sonic, Elendra Park Sam, Sigel Sunset Maximus, and Bojo.

We are fortunate to have a veterinarian in the area who is a specialist.  We realize their are breeders who would like to flush but have no one in their area.  If you are interested in flushing your cows please contact us and we will facilitate the process at our ranch.
